he began applying his network modeling expertise to investigate neural connectivity in psychiatric illness. He developed the network-based statistic, one of the most widely used methods for performing statistical inference on brain networks. His contributions to neuropsychiatry include mapping of the schizophrenia connectome and development of methods to analyze neuroimaging data. He co-authored Fundamentals of Brain Network Analysis, one of the best-selling Elsevier neuroscience titles published in 2016. His 2010 nodes paper has become a classic in the field of imaging connectomics. Associate Professor Zalesky was awarded the 2016 Aubery Lewis Award and the 2014 Young Tall Poppy Science Award.
