Ali Keshavarzi is a technology visionary and a leader who has been at the forefront of technology innovation with a track record of delivering critical technologies, devices, circuits, modules, subsystems, and systems to the semiconductor industry.
Ali received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and was recognized as a distinguished Outstanding Electrical and Computer Engineer (OECE) by Purdue University in 2015.
Ali jointed Intel Corporation in 1991 and learned the ropes of process, device, circuits and design technology in his early years at Intel. Subsequently in various R&D roles at Intel and later at TSMC, GLOBALFOUNDRIES and Cypress, Ali has been at the leading edge of research and technology development in the areas of CMOS technology scaling, FinFET development, low voltage computing, high performance computing, wide IO and high bandwidth memory, embedded non-volatile memory (eNVM) and advanced multi-chip fan-out and 2.5D packaging.
Most recently Ali was the Vice President of R&D and a Fellow at Cypress Semiconductor. In 2017, he left Cypress to pursue other interests. Recently Ali formed Leading Edge Research LLC to realize his vision of energy-efficient embedded systems for future critical low-power IoT applications that will require local intelligence at the edge of the cloud. This will require a fine balance of computing and communication power for system optimization and cost-effectively integrating differentiated technologies toward achieving energy autonomy.
Ali has more than 60 patents, over 60 papers, has received best-paper and best-panel awards, teaching awards, most paper citation awards and has been granted the prestigious Intel Achievement Award (IAA).
